Growing up in the countryside I’ve never been knowingly influenced by great designs. Nevertheless I always took great care in honing my handwriting skills at primary school, made drawings using a ruler and bought skateboard magazines because I appreciated their use inspiring photographs and clean looking layouts.
After grammar school I decided to attend a Technical High School for Mechanical Engineering, after all who doesn't dream of flying an airplane someday. As I became a little older, wiser and my view of the world began to develop I decided this wasn't the right place for me and switched to classes for Media Engineering and Communications. In this new field I built a solid knowledge base of objective programming, web development and design basics.
It was at this moment I realised that my technical background will be the greatest influence upon my future design work. I began to love the web and came up with my own website designs in a clean and often very minimalistic style. I am now approaching the final stage of my studies in Media Technology and Design at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences.
When I am not studying I work part-time as a creative freelancer, giving me the opportunity to develop my design skills in a real-world working environment. My passion for design is ever increasing, I simply love the work I do and when you have this passion and enjoy something so much, can you really call it work?
